A Jaguar Safari in the region of Porto Jofre. You will explore the best hotspots for jaguar watching, cruising the Cuiabá River, the Meeting of the Waters State Park, the Três Irmão River, the Piquiri River and other fantastic places!
Our flat-bottomed motor boats are fast and equipped with silent motors to avoid vibration and noise, they have liftable roof very useful during sunny days, comfortable seats, and radio connection to maximize the sightings.
The target of this tour is the jaguar, but you will have the chance to see and photograph giant otters, capybaras, caimans, macaws, Jabirus and other birds.
Arrival at Cuiabá Airport in the late morning. You will be greeted by our staff and shuttle to a traditional Brazilian restaurant nearby for lunch. You will then take a one hour-and-30-minute drive to head to the town of Poconé that is right on the doorstep of the Transpantaneira Park Road. There is an additional three-hour drive on the Transpantaneira Park Road to reach Porto Jofre. Stops will be planned to allow you to photograph the animals along the way.
On your way to Porto Jofre, capybaras, caimans, savanna hawks, snail kites, jabiru storks, wood storks and other animal species will keep you occupied. You should arrive for dinner at Porto Jofre Lodge.
Overnight at Porto Jofre Lodge
You will explore the Meeting of the Waters State Park that hosts the largest concentration of jaguars on the Planet. This is a very rewarding area, where you will sample a selection of promising areas for Jaguar watching, including the Cuiabá River, the Três Irmãos River, and the Piquiri River. In this zone, you can track and photograph wild jaguars in speedboats.
You will enjoy a full day of Jaguar watching. Giant river otters, wading birds, caimans, capybaras, and jaguars might be spotted.
After breakfast, you will make your way back to Cuiabá. The drive will offer you your final views of the northern Pantanal and some nice animal sightings along the Transpantaneira Park Road.
You will stop for lunch at a lodge en route. Drop off at the airport or to your hotel.
